Bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest began the foundations of what would be my obsession with metal. Every now and then I like to take a break from the intensity of bands like "Behemoth" and "Meshuggah", to revisit the classics and remind myself of why these bands are so great. With Judas Priest my favourite albums are; "Sad Wings of Destiny" and "Screaming for Vengeance". This album is fun, energising and has that classic sound which I will always love.
The album begins with what may be the most epic intro to ever be recorded, "The Hellion/Electric Eye". The band kicks things off strong and this is an intro which I would say almost every metalhead is familiar with and bows down to.
Halford has always been a strong vocalist, but he really shines on this album. His vocals have groove, strength and lead the way through each magnificent song. For me personally, the title track, "You've Got Another Thing Comin'", and, "Fever", are what stand out for me here. These songs always get the blood pumping and put a smile on my face. It is bands like Judas Priest and albums like these that are a reminder of why they will always be the greatest. They don't need blast beats, crazy BMP's and gutterals to make great music. It is raw, fun and the message is innocent.
This album is a straight-forward delivery of mastery, and for me I will always come back to albums like this to pay homage to those that paved the way.
